I wish we'd gone through CPS the first time around.
These past two classes have been more informative (and fun) than the NINE months it took for us to be verified through the other place that eventually left us broken & hanging in the end.
Another homework assignment aimed at poking around inside our heads and an initial home visit scheduled on the 11th to do more of the same I guess, and we're moving along nicely.
We'd intended on strictly adopting a kiddo anywhere between 3 to 10, but now we're considering opening up our options by foster/adopting again..
The stories about foster parents being given preference when their placements become available for adoption are so common, how could we not give that option another go..
So now we're considering fostering 2-5 year olds as well as adoption.
The PRIDE training instructors have mentioned WEBSITES LIKE THIS, to take a look at some children available for adoption (everyone in class is VERY familiar with these sites) so we've looked around and seen some faces that we could look at forever.
We'll see. It's too early to go there..I think.
October 2nd: the Heart Gallery of Central Texas is inviting families in the process of adoption and CPS caseworkers to a 'Match Party' at Walnut Creek Metro Park.
crazy. we're there.
hey thanks for coming,
gotta go be cop-like.
