tonight at around seven we received a call from the settlement home..they had two little boys coming into emergency care..and could we take them?
i left work early, and thought about what it meant..i wondered how this night would play out.
brothers, 3 and 6.
well..it turned out that cps found out about an aunt at the last second..
so we've been waiting on a call to find out whether or not they found her, if she was willing to take them.
it's after eleven now..
and we're going to bed.
and hopefully those boys are safe and sound..
how scary..for everyone.

Wow - 3 and 6, those are very young kids. Can't imagine just having ours move in like that. It took us months to transition him into our home. Fostering is a whole different ball of wax.
I enjoyed meeting you at the neighborhood park on Saturday.
The transracial parenting group that I mentioned to you has a website: www[dot]parentingacrosscolor[dot]com. The group is very diverse -- gay parents, straight parents, single parents, foster parents and adoptive parents. It's a great source of support and information. The group meets on the second Saturday of each month.
Take good care of yourselves. I hope to see you around at the park or at a meeting.
