it's nice thanks..

Gah! After what seems like forever since being able to log into blogger, (jerk beta) I'll try to fill you in.

On the 22nd of last month we received another call about another pair of brothers who were coming into emergency care, and despite the fact that emergency placements are the most uncertain of placements, we jumped at the opportunity.

Two days later we met a seemingly sweet super sized kid I'll call D. The kid was a ham, outgoing and clever as they come. We had a good time together, but we could tell he was going to be a handful or ten.
Then about a week later, in walks the two year old brother, oh let's call him Izzi, and D took a downward spiral into raging cursing fits, attacking us, our friends and terrorizing our cats..
Then he broke out his bedroom window with his SIX YEAR OLD FIST and punched his brother in the face. It was one of the worst weeks of my entire life, and I promise, thats saying a shit ton.

We were forced to ask that he be removed from our home..and Izzi left us too.

Once they were gone I must admit that we were relieved and just spent the next couple days recovering.
We talked and talked about having our own baby instead of this insane foster parenting mess we'd gotten ourselves into, but we were interrupted by a phone call asking us if we could possibly take Izzi back, and just like that he was home again.

I think its been about a week now, I've been on spring break. A full time stay at home mom for an entire week, and it's been so good. The house is upside down full of toys and sippy cups and superman underwear, and little shoes and our routine is all disrupted and we eat and sleep and bathe on made up schedule and we're tired as hell, and our friends look at us like we are effing nut's and it's effing true.

He's sweet and happy and calls us both mama, and it's ok because he calls everyone mama, poor honey, and we've already fallen so very hard. It's nice. Even the rough times, as rare as they are (knocking on wood)...

One day at a time.
